Islamic Basis of Sales & Returns Policy
In accordance with Islamic principles of trade ALL sales on this website are final. No exchange No refunds - exceptions apply. Please read and clarify where needed.
Sales on this website are based on mutual consent, honesty, and fulfillment of agreed terms. We aim to conduct all sales with honesty, fairness, and mutual agreement. We seek Allah's aid in this regard.
Completion of Sale
When an order is placed and fulfilled exactly as selected by the customer, and the items received match the description and specifications chosen, the sale is considered complete and binding.
In Islamic law, once a transaction is concluded and both parties have separated (physically or digitally), the sale becomes binding (bay‘ lāzim), unless a valid reason for return exists.
This is based on the saying of the Prophet ﷺ:
“The buyer and the seller have the option (to cancel) so long as they have not separated.”
(Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Hadith 2110; Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, Hadith 1532)
Imām al-Nawawī رحمه الله states:
“This hadith establishes the option of the session (khiyār al-majlis), and once separation occurs, the sale becomes binding.”
(Sharḥ Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim)
For online orders, this applies once the order is confirmed and delivered correctly.
Meaning:
- The right to cancel exists only until the transaction is concluded (separation).
- Once the parties separate (or the transaction is completed online), the sale becomes binding unless another valid khiyār applies.
Shaykh Ibn ʿUthaymīn رحمه الله said:
“If the sale is correct and the item is sound, then it is not permissible for the buyer to return it unless the seller agrees.”
📖 Sharḥ al-Mumtiʿ ʿalā Zād al-Mustaqniʿ, Kitāb al-Buyūʿ (Book of Sales), discussion on binding sales and absence of khiyār.
Hanafi
Ibn ‘Ābidīn رحمه الله writes:
“When the buyer receives the item free of defect, the sale becomes binding and there is no right of return.”
📖(Radd al-Muḥtār ‘alā ad-Durr al-Mukhtār)
Maliki
Imām al-Dardīr رحمه الله states:
“There is no option after completion of the sale except for a defect or a stipulated condition.”
📖(Ash-Sharḥ al-Kabīr)
Shafi‘i
Imām al-Nawawī رحمه الله:
“If the sale is concluded and no defect is found, the sale is binding.”
📖(Al-Majmū‘)
Hanbali
Ibn Qudāmah رحمه الله writes:
“The sale becomes binding upon completion unless a valid option applies.”

Qur’anic Principle Supporting Finality
Allah says,
“O you who believe, do not consume one another’s wealth unjustly, but only by trade mutually agreed upon.”
(Qur’an 4:29)
Scholars explain:
• Taking money back without a valid right after a correct sale is consuming wealth unjustly.
Islamic rights to return
Islam does not grant an automatic right to return an item simply due to change of mind when:
- The item matches the description
- The item is defect-free
- The customer selected the specifications (e.g. size, colour)
- The seller fulfilled the order correctly
➡️ Then the sale is binding (lāzim)
➡️ The buyer has no automatic right to return
➡️A return in this case is a courtesy, not an obligation.
A return is Islamically required if:
➡️A hidden defect exists that was not disclosed
➡️Deception or misrepresentation occurred
➡️A return condition was explicitly agreed upon in advance
➡️Clear terms & conditions agreed to
Return Authorization Requirement
“Muslims are bound by their conditions.”
(Abu Dawood, Tirmidhī)
All returns MUST be requested and AUTHORIZED before being sent. Items sent without prior authorization, or to an address not provided as a return address specifically by us are not considered valid returns.
Sending items to an unauthorized address or without confirming return instructions is the responsibility of the customer. Do NOT send anything to the address on the postal label.
Responsibility & Justice
Islam forbids consuming another person’s wealth unjustly:
“Do not consume one another’s wealth unjustly, but only by trade mutually agreed upon.”
(Qur’an 4:29)
Accordingly, once an order has been fulfilled correctly and in line with agreed terms, the seller is not Islamically or contractually obligated to refund or replace items that were returned incorrectly or without authorization.
